St. Anthony edged Sullivan 13-12 in junior high baseball competition Tuesday evening.

Sullivan held a 5-4 lead after three and led 11-7 after five. St. Anthony then tallied six runs in the sixth and held off a final inning challenge.

Both teams had 13 hits in the contest. Guy had a single, double and two RBI for the Bullpups while Ritz had three singles and two RBI. Rios added two singles and an RBI and Boatman two singles.

Ritz came on in the third and went five innings for the pitching win.

At Effingham

Flora took a 2-0 first inning lead but the Mustangs came back to tie the score in the second then pushed ahead with a six-run third. Flora pulled within 8-7 in the sixth but Effingham brought across an insurance run in the bottom of the frame for the 9-7 win.

Wolfe had two singles, a double and drove in a run for Effingham. Fielitz had two singles and an RBI and Latch a double and two RBI.

Effingham is now 4-1 on the season.

At Dieterich

Dieterich hosted Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor and ended the game in the fifth 10-0. Gephart pitched a no-hitter with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Hunzinger had three hits and drove in three runs for the winners.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) led 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth then tallied eight runs for a 12-2 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

The Cardinals had 12 hits in the contest led by Bible with a single and two doubles, Clifton with a double and an RBI, Ingram with a home run and two RBI, Dawkins with two singles and an RBI and Burkett with two singles.

Welton had two singles for CHBC and Beck added a double.
