Shelby Co. Jr. Legion Edges Danville

SHELBYVILLE -- Shelby County Junior Legion Posts 289-611-725 split victories with Danville Junior Post 210 Sunday.

In the opener, Danville blanked Shelby County 9-0, scoring two runs in the first, four in the third and three in the fourth.

Danville had seven hits while Shelby County had four. Shelby County was led by Kentrell Beck with a double and Grant Mose with two singles.

In the second contest, Danville edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Shelby County came back with four runs in the bottom of the third. Danville pulled within 4-3 in the fourth but the two squads went scoreless the rest of the way and Shelby County won 4-3.

Hayden Francisco had a single, double and an RBI for the winners. Colten Reed went five innings, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out four.
