Effingham Asphalt had a 14-run fifth inning and when the dust had settled, tallied an 18-2 win over Taylor Law Offices in the Babe Ruth Prep League at Evergreen Hollow Park Wednesday.

The two squads were tied at 2-2 after the first inning. Asphalt then pushed ahead with two runs in the fourth and broke the game wide open in the fifth.

Asphalt had nine hits in the game. There were no names listed. Colin Fielitz pitched a one-hitter.

Mathew Loy had the lone hit for Taylor with a single.
