Newton Blanks Edwards County, 3-0

NEWTON -- Newton High School's baseball squad blanked Edwards County (Albion), 3-0 in action Monday.

The Eagles tallied two runs in the second and a final run in the fourth.

Nate Meinhart threw a three-hitter with five strikeouts. Meinhart also hit a single, scoring two runs. Mitch Bierman had a single and double and Tim Weber had two singles.

The Eagles are now 13-9 on the season.
