Altamont, BSE, T-town Pick Up Baseball Victories

ALTAMONT -- Altamont handed Mulberry Grove a 7-1 high school baseball loss Thursday.

The Indians took a 2-0 first inning lead on a single by Nick Miller, two walks and an error. Altamont tacked on two more in the second then finished out with three in the sixth.

Branden Hosick picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter. Altamont committed four errors and the lone Mulberry Grove run scored on an error.

Altamont had five hits, singles by N. Miller, Caden Miller, Klaiton Wolff, Devon Guerrettaz and Alex Biggs. Guerrettaz had three RBI while Wolff had one.

At Ramsey

Brownstown/St. Elmo broke a 0-0 tie in the third with five runs and then held off Ramsey for a 6-4 victory.

BSE was led by Noah Flowers with a double. Lewis Brown pitched the win allowing nine hits and three walks but striking out 10.

BSE won the regular Egyptian-Illini Conference season with a 3-0 record and is 4-7 overall. Ramsey drops to 0-8.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis High School pushed its baseball mark to a perfect 12-0 with an 11-0 win over North Clay (Louisville).

The Wooden Shoes stepped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.

T-town had 13 hits led by Jason Kenter with two singles and three RBI, Drew Thoele with a triple and an RBI, Brant Bueker with a double and Brock Bueker with a double. Bueker added three RBI. Devin Smith had two singles.

Kenter pitched the win, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out four to improve his record to 2-0.

The Shoes are back in action Saturday at the North Clay Showcase against Cobden at 1 p.m. North Clay will face Cobden at 3 p.m.
