T-town Beats Dieterich In DH, Altamont Claims Victory

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis picked up a doubleheader victory over Dieterich in high school baseball action Thursday evening.

The Wooden Shoes had to go nine innings before edging the Maroons 4-3 in the opener. Both teams scored three runs in the fourth inning. Then it was quiet until T-town pulled it out in the bottom of the ninth.

T-town banged out 10 hits in the contest led by Brock Bueker with a single and double, Tyler Westendorf with two singles and an RBI and Jacob Roepke with two singles and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Campton and Poe with a double and an RBI each.

In the second contest, Brock Bueker pitched a no-hitter and the Shoes ended the game 11-1 in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule.

Bueker allowed one run, no walks and struck out six in picking up his first pitching win. Lee Hardiek had three singles and drove in two runs while Jason Kenter had two doubles and two RBI, Lane Belleville a single, double and two RBI and Caleb Wendt a double and two RBI.

T-town is now 10-0 on the season while Dieterich dropped to 4-5.

At Mulberry Grove

Altamont stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead, tacked on two in the second and led 3-2 after five innings. The Indians then pushed across two more runs for a 5-2 victory over Mulberry Grove Thursday.

Nick Miller had a single, double and drove in two runs for the winners. He also picked up the pitching win.
