Altamont High School broke a 2-2 tie after the first inning with a run in the second and went on for a 9-2 victory over South Central in baseball action Thursday.

Altamont took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first. Nick Miller reached on an error and took second on a passed ball. Caden Miller followed with a walk. Jake Finn then singled home a run. Devon Guerrettaz also singled home a run.

South Central came back in the bottom of the frame. Ratermann led off with a single and Harmeier followed with a double. With one out, South Central got back-to-back singles from Markley and Geiler to bring home both runs.

Altamont regained the lead in the third with a run as Kolby Pemberton led off by reaching base on an error and took second on a wild pitch. Caden Miller then singled him home. The Indians scored two more in the fifth and four in the seventh.

Markley finished with two singles, a double and an RBI for South Central.

Caden Miller had three singles and an RBI for Altamont. Guerrettaz had two singles, a double and two RBI. Whitt had a single, double and two RBI.

At Brownstown

North Clay (Louisville) came calling and handed Brownstown/St. Elmo a 10-0 loss. The Cardinals edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then tacked on two more in the fourth, one in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Bra. Repking had a single and double while Aldrich and Lovett had two singles each for the winners. Warren picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing two hits, three walks and striking out two. The Cardinals improve to 1-2.

Nate Philpot and Jeffrey Kelly had a single each. BSE drops to 1-1 on the season.

At Dieterich

Odin broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the second. Dieterich came back to knot the score at 4-4 in the third and led 6-5 after four. But Odin tallied three more in the fifth and pulled out an 8-6 victory.

Odin had 14 hits in the contest led by Wilson with two singles, a double and an RBI, Hofstetter with a single and double, Cain with three singles and an RBI, Quick with two singles and three RBI and Herrin with a double.

Dieterich was led by C. Thoele, Poe and Radloff with two singles each. Poe added two RBI.
