T-town Downs St. Anthony In High School Baseball

Teutopolis High School took a 4-2 first inning lead and went on to score in three more innings for a 10-3 victory over Effingham St. Anthony Wednesday evening in baseball competition at Wooden Shoe Field.

(LANE BELLEVILLE PICKED UP THE WIN FOR TEUTOPOLIS WHILE CONTRIBUTING TWO HITS)

The Shoes banged out 12 hits in the contest while the Bulldogs committed three errors. Cody Jansen, a sophomore, had four singles in the game for the Shoes. Lane Belleville contributed two singles and an RBI. Carson Hartke had a single and three RBI. Tyler Westendorf had the lone extra base hit for the Shoes with a double and an RBI.

Will Clausius led the Bulldogs with a double while Bryar Jansen had two singles and an RBI.

Belleville picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out two, while Clausius took the loss for St. Anthony.

T-town is now 2-0 on the season and will host a Wooden Bat Tournament Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

St. Anthony drops to 1-1 and will travel to Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick Friday.
