11-12 Year-Old League Tournament -- July 13

Kemper CPA and Dairy Queen were winners in action in the 11-12 Year-Old League Tournament Monday at Community Park.

Kemper CPA opened by bouncing DEKALb 17-2 in four innings. Kemper jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and never looked back.

Ben Thompson picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter. Kemper had seven hits in the contest led by Moore with a single, double and two RBI, Thompson with a double and two RBI, Walk with a double and an RBI and Loy with a triple.

Brandenburger had the lone RBI for DEKALB and had a single.

Kemper advances to face either Schumacher Orthodontics or Kingery Printing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those two teams play tonight at 5:30.

In the second contest, Dairy Queen took a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Rhodes Chiropractic 9-5. Both teams had four hits in the contest.

Dairy Queen was led by Blanchette with a double and an RBI. Briggerman had two RBI with a single for Rhodes.

Dairy Queen will now face either NAPA or Arrow Pest Control at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those two teams play at 7:30 p.m. today.
