Effingham Junior Legion Post 120 defeated Altamont, 4-0 Thursday night to improve its record to 8-3 on the season.

Brent Beals pitched a two-hit, complete game shutout and added two hits and two RBI. Drew Gibson, Mason Hull, Ryan Sandifer and Zach Bateman also contributed hits in the victory.

Effingham is scheduled to play a doubleheader against Olney tonight at Evergreen Hollow Park, weather permitting.
