Post 120 Splits Doubleheader w/Robinson Post

Effingham American Legion Post #120 gained a split in doubleheader baseball action Wednesday in Robinson.

Post #120 won 3-2, but lost 7-3 in their battles with Robinson Post #69 A. 

In the victory, Hudson Graham scattered five hits in six innings of work, walking five and fanning eight. Nick Miller got an out and Reid Kocher got the final two outs in the seventh to close out the win. Meanwhile, Post #120 scored all of its runs in a three-run fifth inning to post the win.

Nick Miller also doubled and singled and drove in two runs to lead Post #120 on offense. Kyle Bourgeois singled and drove in a run, and Reid Kocher, Lane Koenig, Alex Hoelscher, and Tyler Zuber each had hits.

In the other contest, Kyle Bourgeois took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out four. Reed Schafer pitched the final inning and allowed three runs on two hits and two walks.

At the plate for Post #120, Nick Miller singled and walked and drove in a run, Reid Kocher doubled and walked, Michael Woltman walked, Tyler Zuber singled and walked twice, Lane Koenig singled, and Reed Schafer singled and drove in a run.

With the split, Effingham Post #120 stands at 4-2 on the season, 2-1 in the conference. The squad is scheduled to begin action in a three-day tournament in Greenville today.
