Class 1A North Clay Regional

Brownstown/St. Elmo High School handed Clay City a 2-0 loss in opening round play of the Class 1A North Clay (Louisville) Baseball Regional Monday.

The two teams went scoreless through the first four innings before Brownstown/St. Elmo scored two runs in the fifth. Noah Flowers pitched the four-hitter with two walks and 11 strikeouts.

BSE had only one hit, a single by Lewis Brown who also had an RBI. BSE is now 11-1 and will face South Central Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

At Brownstown

Class 1A Dieterich Regional

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick edged Ramsey 3-2 in the opening game of the Dieterich Regional Monday.

BCCH tallied a 2-0 lead in the first inning but Ramsey came back to knot the score in the second. BCCH then scored what proved to be the winning run in the fifth.

Cody Grove picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter and seven strikeouts through 5 2/3 innings.

Austin Shelton and Brady Randall had a double each for BCCH. Randall added an RBI. BCCH is now 3-9 and will face Effingham St. Anthony Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

At Beecher City

Class 1A Cumberland Regional

Hutsonville/Palestine came out the winner over Martinsville in the opening game of this regional. H/P picked up the win 10-8.

Hutsonville/Palestine now advances to face Neoga at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Class 1A Moweaqua Central A&M Regional

Arcola edged Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 3-2 in the first game of this regional.

Arcola now faces Bethany Okaw Valley at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Class 2A Lawrenceville Regional

Robinson claimed a 6-5 win over Lawrenceville. Robinson now advances to face Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Flora will then take on Newton at 7 p.m.

 

At Teutopolis

In a regular season contest, Teutopolis handed Altamont an 11-1 loss to finish the regular season with a 26-5-1 record.

Altamont took a 1-0 lead and held that until the third when T-town broke loose with five runs. The Wooden Shoes then tallied six more to end the game in the fifth.

Jordan Thoele had a single, home run and two RBI for the winners. Louis Niemerg chipped in with a single and three RBI. Austin Johnson and Devin Smith had two singles and an RBI each while Jacob Roepke had three singles and an RBI.

Altamont was led by Wolff with a triple and Guerrettaz with a double and an RBI.

At Teutopolis

At Flora

Flora stepped out to an 8-1 first inning lead and downed South Central 10-4.

The Wolves had nine hits in the contest. South Central had five hits but committed four errors. Ratermann had a single and double for the Cougars. Smith had a home run and three RBI.

Flora improves to 20-14 on the season.
