T-town, BSE, Newton, Cumberland Claim Victories

Teutopolis High School scored both runs in the second inning and blanked Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 2-0 in baseball action Monday.

Mette had a single and drove in both runs for the Shoes. Roepke had a double. Johnson picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with no walks and two strikeouts. Smith came on in the fifth allowing no hits, no walks and striking out six in the save.

T-town is now 2-0 on the season while Stew-Stras/Windsor drops to 3-2.

At Windsor

At Dieterich

Dieterich and Charleston were tied at 2-2 after the first inning and it stayed that way until the top of the seventh. The Trojans then brought home two runs for the 4-2 victory.

Charleston had three doubles in the contest. McGahey had a single, doubleand an RBI while Carver had a double and an RBi and Sweeney a double.

Dieterich had four hits, all singles by Campton, Hartke, Thoele and Mellendorf.

Brownstown/St. Elmo took a 2-0 first inning lead then broke loose for a 16-5 victory in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Cole Horner had three doubles and two RBI for the Bombers. Noah Flowers had two singles and three RBI, Drake Hall a single, double and three RBI, Nate Matthews a single, double and two RBI and Jeffrey Kelly two singles.

Ausbrook led Clay City with two singles and two RBI.

Newton had three run innings in the third, fourth and sixth and went on for a 10-1 win over Oblong.

The Eagles banged out 15 hits in the contest led by Meinhart with two singles and an RBI, Mammoser with two singles and three RBI, Reis with two singles and three RBI and Jansen with two singles and an RBI.

Jansen picked up the pitching win, going all seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out four.

At Kinmundy

South Central played host to Altamont and edged the Indians 7-6 in action Monday.

The Cougars took a 1-0 first inning lead but Altamont came back with two runs in the second. South Central then tied in the fourth and took a 7-2 lead into the seventh. Altamont made a big comeback bid with four runs only to fall short.

South Central had 10 hits in the contest led by Smith with a double, home run and two RBI. Geller added two singles and an RBI and Powless a double.

Altamont was led by N. Miller with two singles and three RBi and Winn with two singles and an RBI.

At Kinmundy

Cumberland claimed a 7-6 win over Robinson. Robinson held a 2-1 lead after four innings and led 6-1 in the top of the sixth.

The Pirates came back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth then won the game with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Cutts led Cumberland with three singles and three RBI while Light had a single and an RBI.

At Toledo

North Clay (Louisville) had a five-run third inning and went on for an 11-1 win over Cisne in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Repking picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing six hits, two walks and striking out two.

Cox had three singles and three RBI while Aldrich had a single, home run and four RBI. North Clay is now 5-1 on the season. Cisne drops to 1-4.
