Arkansas Allows EIU Two Hits In Baseball Win

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas had six pitchers combine to allow just two Eastern Illinois hits on Tuesday afternoon as the Razorbacks won the final game of the series 7-0.

Arkansas improved to 7-2.  EIU dropped to 0-6 and is scheduled to open Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend against Austin Peay, details are still being determined.

Arkansas jumped on top in the first inning with two runs as EIU freshman starter Andy Fisher (0-1) took the loss for the Panthers.  Andrew Benintendi drove home one run in the first and added a solo home run in the 5th as he was 2-for-3.

The Razorbacks second run of the first inning came on a fielding error while their run in the second inning was on a wild pitch.  Carson Shaddy was 3-for-3 for Arkansas.

Keaton McKinney (1-0) picked up the win allowing one hit.  EIU’s two hits in the game came off the bats of Brant Valach and Dane Sauer.
