(Chicago, IL)  --  It looks like Joe Maddon will be managing in the Windy City. CBSSports.com reports the former Tampa Bay Rays skipper is close to a deal to become the skipper of the Chicago Cubs.

The deal is expected to make Maddon one of the highest-paid managers in baseball. He opted out of the final year of his contract with the Rays on Monday after nine seasons.

Rick Renteria was currently the manager of the Cubs, who finished 73-89 this season but was fired today.
