Effingham Junior High School improved its baseball record to 4-1 by defeating Salem 15-6 Monday.

Alec Morrissey went a perfect four-for-four at the plate with three singles, a double and an RBI, while Mason Hull and Zack Bateman collected three hits apiece for the Mustangs. Bateman had two singles, a three-run homer and finished with five RBI while Hull had two singles, a double and two RBI. Brett Koester was the winning pitcher and gave up one run in five innings of work.

Coach Rod Wiethop and his Mustangs will try to extend their winning streak to four as they host Flora today.

At St. Elmo

St. Elmo bounced Windsor to the tune of 11-1 in six innings. St. Elmo had two-run innings in the first through the fourth and tallied two in the sixth.

Feezel went three-for-four with two singles, a double and three RBI. Chaney also went three-for-four with two singles, a triple and an RBI. Feezel was the winning pitcher on a two-hitter with three walks and a whopping 15 strikeouts.

St. Elmo is back in action today hosting Ramsey.

At Beecher City

Sigel St. Michael defeated Beecher City 14-0 behind 10 hits. Brock Bueker had two singles and a double while Evan Althoff had two doubles and Collin Kreke had three singles.

Brock Bueker was the winning pitcher allowing three hits. St. Michael improves to 3-1 and returns to action hosting Dieterich Thursday.

At Charleston

Charleston handed Jasper County an 11-3 loss. Charleston took a 4-0 lead after two innings. Jasper County came back with three runs in the third but Charleston came back with four in the fourth.

The loss drops Jasper County to 4-1 on the season.
