Tuesday's Junior High Baseball Roundup

Effingham St. Anthony picked up a 6-3 victory over Altamont in junior high baseball play Tuesday. The Bullpups took a 1-0 lead in the third inning and led 2-0 after the fourth.

Altamont tallied two runs in the top of the fifth to tie the score at 2-2. St. Anthony then tallied three runs in the bottom of the frame and one in the sixth. St. Anthony had eight hits while Altamont had seven.

St. Elmo edged Mulberry Grove, 13-12. St. Elmo held a 6-1 lead going into the final inning. Mulberry Grove tallied a whopping 11 runs to take a 12-6 lead. But St. Elmo came right back in the bottom of the frame to score seven runs and pull out the victory.

Feezel had the game winning hit for St. Elmo. St. Elmo is back in action Thursday hosting Odin.

North Clay (Louisville) came calling and handed Beecher City a 21-5 loss in three innings.

North Clay stepped out to a 20-0 first inning lead. North Clay had 17 hits in the contest and was aided by five Beecher City errors. Q. Aldrich had a single, triple, home run and drove in seven runs. C. Smith had three singles and three RBI and B. Zimmerman had three singles, and three RBI.

North Clay improves to 2-0 and will host Patoka Thursday.

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up a 13-3 victory over Dieterich. Stew-Stras led 5-0 after two innings and 8-3 after three. Stew-Stras then tallied five more runs to end the game in the fifth.

Derrick Moschenrose had four hits and three RBI for the winners. Trevor Quast and Josh Overbeck had two hits and an RBI each. Josh Overbeck was the winning pitcher on a five-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts.

St. Anthony split A and B games with Shelbyville Monday. In the A contest, Shelbyville edged the Bullpups 4-3. In the B contest, St. Anthony downed Shelbyville 11-3.

Tuesday Games

Sts. Anthony beat Altamont 6-3 in A competition and downed Altamont 7-4 in the B game. St. Anthony is 1-1 in A action and 2-0 in B play.

Jasper County Results

Jasper County and Teutopolis both picked up victories Saturday. Jasper County won the A contest 4-3 while Teutopolis claimed the B game 11-3.

In Monday play, Jasper County blanked Cumberland, 16-0.
