Jackie Robinson West Holds Off Elimination in LLWS

(Williamsport, PA) -- The Jackie Robinson West squad of Chicago is still alive at the Little League World Series in Williamsport. The team defeated Pearland of Texas 6-1 last night to move on. They now face Nevada or Pennsylvania Thursday, with the winner moving to the U.S. championship.


Great Lakes, Mexico Advance At LLWS

(South Williamsport, PA) -- Great Lakes is into the United States semifinal at the Little League World Series. Texas was eliminated. The Great Lakes squad will face the loser of Wednesday's West and Mid-Atlantic matchup in an elimination game Thursday.

West-representative Las Vegas takes on Philadelphia and Mo'ne Davis in the semis Wednesday. Both teams are 2-0 so far in Williamsport. The 13-year-old Davis is the first Little League player ever to be featured on the cover of "Sports Illustrated."  Also Tuesday, Mexico cruised past Latin America 11-1 to advance. Asia-Pacific plays Japan Wednesday in the semifinals of the international bracket.
