Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School downed Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor twice in A&B baseball competition Saturday.

In the A contest, St. Anthony jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and went on for a 10-0 victory. B. Niebrugge had a three-run homer in the first inning and finished with three RBI. Wall had a single, triple and two RBI.

In B action, St. Anthony claimed an 11-1 win behind a 12-hit attack. Jar. Hoene and Jac. Hoene had a single, double and an RBI each while Quandt and Litke had two singles each. Litke had two RBI.

Greuel had the lone hit for Stew-Stras/Windsor with a single. Tingley picked up the pitching win.

At Teutopolis

Efffingham captured a 4-1 victory over Teutopolis in the A contest while T-town was a 10-2 winner in B action Saturday.

T-town held a 1-0 lead in the A game until the fifth when Effingham tallied three runs. Z. Lee picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Lee also had a single, double and drove in two runs while Bushur had a double and two RBI. J. Hardiek had the lone hit for T-town with a double.

In B action, Effingham edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead before T-town came back with a four-run third and never looked back.

Both teams had three hits. McMahan, Pals and Zerrusen had a single each. McMahan had two RBI. Kalber had a single and double for Effingham.

Mulberry Grove edged Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 7-6 Saturday. BCCH had seven hits and one error while Mulberry Grove had two hits and four errors.

Kade Swain picked up the pitching win while Nick Miller suffered the loss.
