Bryar Jansen went 2-for-3, sparking American Legion Effingham Junior Post 120 to a 5-0 victory in seven innings over Dieterich Post 628 Thursday at Teutopolis High School. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

Will Clausius worked out of four tough situations for Effingham. He pitched five innings and allowed no earned runs on two hits. Clausius faced his toughest moment in the fifth inning. Caleb Martin recorded the win for Effingham Junior Post 120. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. Martin struck out three, walked one and gave up no hits.

Post 120 broke through scoring one run in the fifth inning and then four more in the sixth. Cory Osborn’s lead-off single in the fifth ended up being the first run for Post 120. Effingham built upon its lead with four runs in the sixth. Lane Koenig kicked things off with a double, scoring Jansen. That was followed up by Martin's single, plating Koenig.

Post 120 now plays in the Junior Legion Tournament Saturday at 3 p.m. against the winner of the Teutopolis vs. South Central game.
