CHARLESTON -- Shelby County Posts 289-611-725 Seniors stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead on Charleston Post 93 and went on for a 3-2 win in the opener of a doubleheader.

Shelby County scored all of its runs in the first inning. Christian Vonderheide led off the inning with a double. Tyler Romack then brought him home on a ball that rolled past centerfield and Romack got a triple. Hayden Cole then followed with an RBI single. Cole went to second on a wild pitch and scored on an error.

Charleston came back with two in the sixth on three hits and a fielder's choice.

Dylan Ohnesorge picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing one hit, three walks and striking out three.

In the second game, Shelby County picked up an 8-3 win. Shelby County again stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead then added on a run in the fourth and four in the seventh.

Ben Helton pitched the victory allowing three hits, three walks and striking out seven.

Hitting-wise, Mark Jones had a single and double while Romack had two singles and an RBI.
