Vanderbilt Tops Virginia In World Series Finale

(Omaha, NE) -- Vanderbilt is celebrating its first national championship in baseball after a 3-2 win over Virginia in the deciding third game of the College World Series in Omaha.  John Norwood collected three hits and hit the eventual game winning home run in the top of the eighth. Vince Conde plated the other run on an infield single for the Commodores, who won two-of-three in the championship series. Hayden Stone grabbed the win in relief and Adam Ravenelle notched the save. Daniel Pinero collected an RBI and scored on an error for Virginia, which was making its first ever finals appearance.  Nick Howard took the loss.
