(Omaha, NE) -- Vanderbilt used a nine-run third inning to grab a 9-8 win over Virginia in Game One of the College World Series championship series from TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. Tyler Campbell went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Commodores, who are a win away from their first national championship. Jared Miller picked up the win with two innings of relief work for Vandy. Daniel Pinero went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Cavaliers while Derek Fisher and Brandon Downes each knocked in two. Nathan Kirby took the loss after pitching two-and-a-third innings and allowing eight runs, five earned. Game Two of the best-of-three series is Tuesday at 7 p.m. Central.
