Padres Pound Cubs, Reds Nip Cardinals, Dunn Sends White Sox Past Yankees

SAN DIEGO--Yasmani Grandal and Yonder Alonso each homered and drove in two runs as the Padres crushed the Cubs 11-1 at Petco Park.  Chase Headley finished two-for-three with three RBI for San Diego, which stopped a four-game slide.  Tim Stauffer surrendered two hits over five scoreless innings to improve to 2-0.  Edwin Jackson was tagged for eight runs in four frames to fall to 3-4 for Chicago.  Welington Castillo went two-for-four with an RBI for the Cubs, who had won four out of five.

CINCINNATI--Todd Frazier hit a three-run homer in the third inning to help the Reds top the Cardinals 5-3 at Great American Ball Park.  Devin Mesoraco also went deep for Cincinnati, which has won three of four.  Homer Bailey allowed three runs in six innings for the win.  Aroldis Chapman notched his fourth save.  Shelby Miller allowed four runs in five frames for the setback.  Allen Craig knocked in two runs for St. Louis, which saw a three-game win streak end.

CHICAGO--Adam Dunn launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to send the White Sox to a 6-5 walk-off victory over the Yankees at US Cellular Field.  Alexei Ramirez finished three-for-four and also hit a two-run homer while Adam Eaton finished three-for-five in the win.  Daniel Webb improved to 4-0 with a relief win as Chicago won its fourth in five games.  Brian McCann hit a three-run homer for New York.  David Robertson took the loss in relief for the Yanks, who have lost four of their last five.
