The Effingham Hearts posted their 13th win of the spring Friday, downing the Flora Wolves 7-3.

Flora scored in the second inning, but the Hearts tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Braydon Bone singled to drive in Brennan Poland.

The Hearts took the lead in the fourth inning, again courtesy of Bone, who doubled in Adam Koester.  Carter Hayes homered in the sixth and drove in four runs on the day.

Bone finished two-for-four with two runs scored and two RBI.  Hayes scored twice along with the homer and the four RBI.  Kennan Mahaffey doubled and scored, Swayde Sanders singled, Michael Woltman singled, Khye Heuerman singled and drove in a run, Poland singled and scored ahead of Bone's single, and Koester singled and walked and scored on Bone's double.

Kevin Daugherty pitched six innings to get the win, allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits, walking two and striking out six.  Bone pitched a perfect seventh, striking out two to post a save.

The Hearts improved to 13-10 on the spring, ahead of a doubleheader against Salem today.
