PEORIA -- Bradley scored four times in the sixth inning Wednesday night and went on to a 5-1 win over SIUE in nonconference baseball at a cold and windy Dozer Park.

SIUE fell to 13-25 with the loss. Bradley improved to 21-10. The two teams split the season series. SIUE defeated Bradley in an earlier game in Edwardsville.

"Following a 1:20 delay prior to first pitch, neither team pushed a run across until Bradley was able to get on the board against SIUE starter Mike Miller (0-3) in the fourth inning. Max Murphy doubled to lead off the inning, and then scored later in the inning on a passed ball.

"It was a tough night for baseball," SIUE Head Coach Tony Stoecklin said. "Mike did a great job. He does a few things here and there, shoots himself in the foot, and cost himself a run. But he cut down his walks, he cut down his pitch total, and overall he did a nice job."

Miller tossed a career-high 5 1/3 innings. He was charged with three runs on four hits. He struck out two.

Skyler Geissinger, making his first-ever appearance on the mound for SIUE, gave up two runs on a hit and two walks in 2/3 of an inning. The Braves used three hits and the two walks to score four times in the inning.

Effingham High School graduate Chase Green had a single for SIUE. The Cougars finished with just six hits. No SIUE player had more than one hit.

SIUE returns to Ohio Valley Conference play with a weekend home series against Morehead State.
