Bill was a life long resident of Cumberland County, as a horseman and farmer. He was a founding member of the Sportsman Club, as well as a charter member of the Greenup VFW. He was a firm believer in his children’s ability to accomplish anything, and his story telling along with patient fishing instruction will be greatly missed.

He left behind eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Stewart and sister, Betty Quinn, both of Greenup, IL, and brother-in-law, W.L. "Red" Green, of Dallas, TX.
His parents and one sister, Ruby Wylde, preceded him in death.
