Madonna M. Schwarm, 86, of Loogootee died at 8:30pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown, IL with Tom Suey and Bill Kistler officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery, Loogootee, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2013, at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Friendship Ministry for Disabled Adults, Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, 15037 Clayton Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017, or Paraquad, 5240 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.
Madonna was born on Tuesday, November 16, 1926 in Sefton Township to Frank and Maude (Workman) Springman. She married Earl L Schwarm on February 11, 1950 in Corinth, MS and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1985. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a partner in the family farm and she was always caring for others.
She is survived by: sons, Michael (Marianne) Schwarm and Russell (Beverly) Schwarm both of Farina; daughters, Ina (Max) Becraft of Dunlap, IL and Mary Wright of Maryland Heights, MO; brother, Frank Springman of St. Elmo; sisters, Phyllis McElheney of Metamora, IL and Iris Hall of Town and Country, MO; 5 grandchildren, Stacey (Brad) Austin, Shelly (Scott) Reynolds, Crystal Lucas, Melissa and Christina Becraft; 4 great-grandchildren, Eli, Abram, and Laela Austin and Andrew Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Thurman and George Springman; 4 sisters, Mildred Goldsboro, Madge Brown and Bertrice Scribner, Mary Belle Springman.
