Don was born on May 10, 1936 in Effingham, the son of John and Mathilda (Niebrugge) Rieman. He married Marjorie A. Strohl on December 7, 1956. Don was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather.
Don loved being employed as a parts manager at Effingham Truck Sales and all the people he worked with. He reluctantly retired after 45 years in 2013. Don was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. You could always find Don mowing his lawn and being the year round Santa for all his grandchildren. He was very involved with his children and grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed Saturdays with the family gatherings.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marjorie of Effingham; sons, Rick of Effingham and Randy (Nancy) of Greenup; daughters, Sherry Lueken and Pam Rieman, both of Effingham, Melissa (Paul) Antrim of Stewardson, Mandy (Gene) Cook of Greenup; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Linda) Rieman of Teutopolis, Steve (Barb) Rieman of Sigel and sister-in-law, Linda (Terry) Campbell of Paris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James and sister Marilyn.
