Randy Lee Quick, 49, of Dieterich died at 1:15pm Sunday, October 27, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services celebrating Randy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, October 31, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Newton, IL with Steve Willis and Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the Seifers-Wilson Cemetery north west of Newton, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM – Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL and also 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. Randy was born on April 17, 1964 in Olney, IL the son of Danny and Margaret (Seifers) Quick. Randy married Lynn Priess on July 14, 2003 and she survives. Randy was known by many for being a talented musician playing with the Rumble Kats, Elm Street Blues, Ivory Grand, and the Koonskynners. He was employed at Wente Plumbing for over 13 years working as a pipefitter and most recently as a Fire Sprinkler Project Manager.
Randy is survived by- Wife- Lynn Quick of Dieterich, IL...Parents- Danny (Maxine) Quick of Newton, IL and Margaret (Richard) Mitchell of Newton, IL...Sons- Britton Quick of Newton, IL and Jesse (Shanna) Purgerson of Altamont, IL...Brothers – Lawrence (Connie) Quick of Robinson, IL and Larry (Gwen) Quick of Newton, IL...Sister- Elizabeth (Josh) Homann of Dieterich, IL...Granddaughter – Dalilah Purgerson of Altamont, IL...Mother and Father In-Law- Margaret & Harold Priess of Altamont, IL. Several nieces, nephews, many close friends, band members, and co-workers.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas B. & Emma (Britton) Quick and Gideon & Martha (Pittman) Seifers.
