Jesse L. Tatman, 77, of Malvern, Arkansas, formerly of Oakland and Urbana, died at 3am Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 16, at 11am in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Paradise Township in Coles County.  Reverend Alfred Eastin of Jacksonville is officiating.  Military services will be conducted by the VFW Post #4325 of Mattoon.  Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45am Wednesday in Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga.

He was born September 5, 1936 in Charleston, the son of Patrick and Mildred (Miller) Tatman.  He married Jan E. Tucker on February 27, 1981 in Mattoon and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2008.  Jesse later married Connie Munger Lawrence on August 25, 2013 in Malvern, Arkansas.  He was a retired truck driver for Nussbaum Trucking Company.  He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, a member of the Fair Play Missionary Baptist Church, the Suburban Teamsters of Northern Illinois #179, a member of the Mattoon American Legion Post #88 of Mattoon, and was an avid bowler.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Tatman of Malvern, Arkansas...three daughters, Patricia L. "Patti" Garrett and husband Mark of Urbana, Teresa "Teri" Miltenberger and husband Eric of rural Toledo, and Kimberly L. "Kym" McWhorter of Neoga...one stepson, Sean Lawrence of Malvern, Arkansas...one stepdaughter, J'ne Hudson of Little Rock, Arkansas...three brothers, Paul Tatman and wife Elaine of Oakwood, Larry Tatman and wife Barbara of Portsmouth, Virginia and Ronnie Tatman and wife Karen of Longview...one sister, Charlene Pryor of Champaign...six grandchildren, Jeremy Garrett, Kyle Miltenberger, Erica Miltenberger, Ashtin McWhorter, Shelby McWhorter and Payton McWhorter...four stepgrandchildren...one great-grandson...and one great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents...five brothers, Lawrence, Donald, Charles, George and Jim Tatman...and two sisters, Ada Bloemker and Florence Schoonover.
