Cecil Ray Hinkle, 84, of Clay City died at 9:40am Friday, October 4, 2013 at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 7 at 1pm at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville.  Visitation will be from noon to 1pm Monday.  Cremation rites will be accorded after the service and burial will be at a later date at Christian Home Cemetery, rural Louisville.  Memorials to Louisville American Legion Post #914.  Condolences at www.jwnealfuneralhome.net

He was born April 13, 1929 in Clay County, the son of Pearl R. and Opal B. (Robinson) Hinkle.  He was a welder and press operator retired from Fedders Corporation.  He also worked as a prison guard earlier in life, including Joliet Correctional Center.  He joined the Wabash Baptist Church in Louisville on October 22, 1944 and he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include brothers, Frank Hinkle and wife Marjorie of Louisville, Norman Hinkle of Fairfield and Jerry Hinkle and wife Kay of Cisne...and sister, Wanda Gerber of Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Hinkle...and a sister deceased in infancy, Norma Jane Hinkle.
