Geraldine “Gerry” Antionette Virt, 90 of Youngtown, Arizona passed away, September 26, 2013.

Gerry was born on Thursday, March 22, 1923 to Perry and Carrie Davis in Brownstown, Illinois. She moved to Sun City in 1960 with her husband Rev. Dr. Harley Eugene Virt who was the first Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sun City and Gerry was the church organist. Before moving to Sun City she had been the church organist at the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, IL where her husband had also been the pastor.  During her lifetime, she was a Kelly Girl and worked for the Ford Corporation as an executive secretary; and at the Prescott Community Hospital in Prescott, Arizona, as a board secretary and medical records librarian.

Gerry is survived by her children; Kathryn Ubellacker of Bridgeport, IL,  Shirley Warren of Sun City, Arizona and Carroll Virt of Concord, California, sister, Shirley Jones of Vandalia, IL, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; and her son Darrell Lee Virt; one brother; and four sisters.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Sun City, Arizona. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Brownstown, IL.
