Rilla Jeanne Hampsten (90) of Yale

Rilla Jeanne Hampsten (Pumphrey), 90, of Yale, IL went home to be with her Lord at suppertime on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, IL.
Services celebrating her life will be held at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday August 22nd 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday August 23rd 2013 at 10:00 AM with Jeanne’s nephew Rev. Herschel Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Yale Cemetery.
Jeanne was born July 27, 1923 in rural Casey, IL the daughter of Artie and Lula Pumphrey. She married Glen C. Hampsten of Yale, IL on September 27, 1946. Glen and Jeanne celebrated 54 years of married life. They were the parents of Darlene LeMar of Yale, Joyce (Jeff) Cooley of Charleston and Glenda Fritschle.
Survivors include her daughters Darlene and Joyce, son-in-law Jeff, grandchildren Joy (Kevin) Pyles of Richmond, TX, Jon (Danette) Fritschle of Glen Carbon, IL, Kelly (Todd) Davis of Danville, IN, Jennifer (Nic) Tucker of Windsor, IL, Ryan O’Kuly of Fall River, MA and Nathan (Kelli) Simpson of Lerna, IL; Survivors also include great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ella and Owen Davis, Nicolle and Cameron Fritschle, Natelli, Olivia and Wyatt Simpson, Logan, Kori and Brooklyn Tucker, and Stryker Pyles.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Glen, daughter Glenda, parents, four brothers, seven sisters and many much loved nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was a member of the Cummins Church of Yale, IL where she was a much loved Sunday school teacher, pianist and choir director. Jeanne loved gardening, quilting, music, her pets and most of all, spending time with her family. She will lovingly be remembered for her wonderful pies, cinnamon rolls and chicken and noodles.
