JoAnn Stoneburner (62) of Beecher City

JoAnn (nee Fleming) Stoneburner, 62, of Beecher City, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL was called to the Church Triumphant at 6:55 a.m. Friday (June 28, 2013) in her home.

JoAnn was born July 16, 1950 in Shelbyville to Oran and Betty Hill Fleming.  She was united in marriage July 27, 1973 to Larry Dean Stoneburner of Beecher City.

JoAnn is survived by her husband Larry; two children: Ty (Lynette) Stoneburner and daughter Caittlyn of Black Creek, WI and Tamara Stoneburner of Alton, IL; brother:  Paul (Beverly) Fleming of Shelbyville; sister: Lesa Klepzig of St. Charles, MO and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, Michael and nephew, Josh.

JoAnn received both her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.  She taught in the Beecher City School District for sixteen years and in the Windsor, IL School District for seventeen years. During her teaching career, she coached volleyball and track and field.  She served as athletic director for Windsor High School and sponsored several clubs both at Beecher City and Windsor.  JoAnn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Shumway, IL where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Youth Group sponsor.  She loved tennis, reading and her faithful dog Bart.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 2, 2013 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  Rev. Paul Bauer will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Beecher City.
