Robert F. Eskew, Jr. 60, of Effingham died at 12:16 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Memorial services will be held at noon Friday, June 28, 2013, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, with the Rev. Dr. Roger Marshall officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday before the service at the funeral home. Robert was born on November 30, 1952, in Effingham, the son of Robert F. and Helen Marie (Landreth) Eskew. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion. He was a CB repairman for various businesses. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and being outdoors. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed playing darts and shooting pool.
Robert is survived by his son, Tim Eskew of Effingham; daughter, Rachael (Benjamin R. Jr.) Boone of Effingham; brother, Harold (Laura) Eskew of Edgewood; sisters, Mary (Dave) Tosh and Rebecca Eskew both of Effingham; brother-in-law, Wendell Dishman of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Medley, Chelsie Eskew- Boone, Tiffany Boone, Tracy Boone, David Boone, and Brittany Burnett; great–grandchildren, Jordan, Rachael, Aiden, Gabriel, and Kalie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Judy Dishman.
