Duane L. Sanders, 63, of Effingham, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in Effingham.
Private family services were held. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family.

Duane was born on August 17, 1959, in Mt. Carmel, IL, the son of Donald and Dorothy (Broy) Sanders.
Duane worked hard as a certified welder for over 35 years, retiring to pursue his passion of hiking. This love for hiking took Duane all over the country, but especially to the Appalachian Trail. Over the last years, Duane also cherished his time spent alongside his companion, Robin.
Duane is survived by his children, Blake (Jane) Sanders, Cory (Nicole) Sanders, and Sarah Sanders; grandchildren, Cooper, Carter, Clara, Carson, Calvin, and Collin; siblings, Dave (Mary) Sanders, Danny (Viv) Sanders, Derek Sanders, and Doug Sanders; sister-in-law, Debbie Sanders; companion, Robin Harris; and friend, and wiseman, Perry Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
