Peggy Lynn Flowers, age 81, of Altamont, Illinois passed away at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the comfort of her home.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Mark White will be officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice. Peggy was born on February 26, 1942 in Briceville, Tennessee, the daughter of Arthur E. and Faye A. (Long) Golden. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Peggy loved to travel and see new places. She was always collecting seeds from new flowers or plants and was known for collecting rocks from different states that she had visited. She loved to see things grow. Peggy was always feeding the birds and loved to watch them through her kitchen window. She also loved to read and do puzzles in the winter months. She was known for her homemade noodles for family get-togethers and cherished the time she spent with her family. She had an exceptional love for her very special companion, Holly Rose.

She is survived by her children, Angela Marsh of Effingham, Ronald Flowers (wife Dana) of Mason, and Michael Flowers (wife Cathy) of Altamont; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Tuesday, Lacey, Tyler, Travis, Tracy, Heather ,Carrie, Amber, Michelle, and Brandy; 32 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Faye Golden; husband, Sam Flowers; son, Sammy Flowers Jr.; brothers, Bobby, Mark, Arthur, Jimmy, Lyndle, and her twin, Pink; sisters, Annabelle and Earnie; granddaughter, Jennifer Garcia; and great-grandson, Carson Blackwell.
