Noel Kermit Manhart, 68, of Strasburg, IL, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 in HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2023 in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Cemetery or Enduring Freedom Ministries Food Pantry in Shumway, IL. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.

Noel was born on November 27, 1954 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Edwin Ray and Ruth Foster (Anderson) Manhart. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1972, and went on to attend the University of Illinois. Noel began working at the Manhart Dairy Farm and retired as the Manager of Mail List Services at World Color Press in Effingham, IL. Noel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL, and served as the caretaker for St. Paul Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed singing in the Coles County Barbershop Chorus, bird watching, mushroom hunting, storytelling, listening to all types of music and watching the Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini. He married Katherine Eloise Boyer on June 14, 1996.

Noel is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughters, Emily Gilmore (Matthew) of Herrick, IL, Molly Manhart (Oscar Velasquez) of Los Angeles, CA, and Roxanna Manhart (Alex Parisien) of Minot, ND; son, Eric Morgensen (Tristalene) of Bremerton, WA; brothers, Fred Manhart (Janet) of Stewardson, IL, Paul Manhart (Carol) of Strasburg, IL, Peter Manhart (Karen) of Downs, IL, and Michael Manhart (Linda) of Moweaqua, IL; sister, Muriel Merriman of Stewardson, IL; sister-in-law, Oksana Manhart of Libertyville, IL; six grandchildren, River Gilmore, Parker Parisien, Spencer Morgensen, Max Morgensen, Cooper Morgensen, and Harmony Morgensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol Ann (Storm) Manhart; son, Joseph Gannaway; brother, James Manhart; and brother-in-law, James Merriman.
