Lee Mathis (58) of St. Elmo

Lee Mathis Jr., 58, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 9:56 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Altamont with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4 from 5-8 p.m. at C&A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Graveside services at 2 p.m. in the Ramsey City Cemetery of Ramsey. Memorials may be made to the family or First Baptist Church of Altamont.
Lee was born in Paducah, Ky. January 19, 1955, the son of Gordon L. Mathis Sr. and JoAnn (Ruble) Mathis. He married Patricia L. Blankenship April 12, 1986 at First Baptist Church of Ramsey. Lee worked for years as a laborer for the City of St. Elmo. He attended First Baptist Church in Altamont and he loved motorcycles, tinkering on cars and gardening.
Lee is survived by his wife, Patty of St. Elmo; sons, Ryan (fiance Katelyn Heard) Mathis of St. Elmo, Adam (significant other Lauren James) Mathis of St. Elmo; daughter, Katelynn Mathis of St. Elmo; mother, JoAnn Mathis of Lathrop, Calif.; brothers, Jay Paul Mathis of Lathrop, Calif., Jimmy Mathis of Stockton, Calif.; sisters, Jolene Hughes of Mateca, Calif., Jennie Johnson of Manteca, Calif., Leza (husband Johnny) Floyd of Stockton, Calif., Francis (hsuband Glenn) Michoff of Manteca, Calif. and Amber Daley of Vandalia; one grandchild, Aiden Mathias and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Daniel Daley.
