William “Bill” Stahl, age 81, of Watson, Illinois passed away at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his family cabin in Minnesota with his loving wife by his side.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altamont. Pastor Maria Bodine will be officiating. Bill was born on May 9, 1941 in Sandwich, Illinois the son of William and Aileen (Dannewitz) Stahl. He married the love of his life, Sara Wagoner, on October 5, 1968 in Kirkland, Illinois, they were married for nearly 54 years. Bill was a member of the US Trotting Association. He was the biggest Teutopolis sports fan, enjoyed traveling to Minnesota with his wife and making memories at their home.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Stahl of Watson; brothers, Douglas Stahl (wife Linda) and Ed Stahl (wife Anne) both of Somonauk, Illinois; sister, Karol Grandgeorge of Somonauk, Illinois; Godchildren, Scott Grandgeorge and Mandi Grandgeorge; and beloved family friend, Jake Beckman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Aileen Stahl; brother-in-law, Roger Grandgeorge; great-nephew, Cole Mander; in-laws, Rudolph and Betty Wagoner.
