Sarah Louise (Traub) Taylor, 43 of Nashville, IL, passed away at 5:18 a.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born on December 21, 1978 in Mattoon, the daughter of David and Joyce (Tegeler) Traub. She married Thomas Taylor on July 11, 2009 in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Besides her husband Tom Taylor, she is survived by her children; Benjamin (11) and Charlotte (9). Her parents David and Joyce (Tegeler) Traub of Effingham, IL. A brother Jacob (Holly) Traub of Effingham, IL and a sister Kim (Darin) Blickem of Effingham, IL.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Sarah graduated from Eastern Illinois University and was employed at the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville. Sarah enjoyed spending time with friends and family whenever possible. You could often find her in the kitchen cooking large meals for parties she would host. While she was a fabulous chef, she was an even better baker and was adamant about making her children’s birthday cakes and ice cream for every party. She joked about becoming a mermaid in her next life and that her soul lived at the beach. She loved to travel and made sure the family vacations were almost always located near the beach, especially North Carolina. She was the brightest light in every room and her laughter and spirit touched every person she met and will live on through them.

The family invites you to join them on October 7th in a Celebration of Life for Sarah at Pearson Building at Lake Sara in Effingham, IL. The open house style celebration will be held from 5-8pm and the family invites you to come share in laughter and love to honor Sarah. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that you honor Sarah by contributing to a benefit account for her children, Benjamin and Charlotte at Farmers & Merchants National Bank in Nashville, IL. Monetary gifts may be sent to their home at 943 E. St. Louis St, Nashville, IL 62263.
