Zachery was born on May 12, 1995, in Centralia, Illinois to Angela Schoreck. Later, he was adopted by Jason and Kris Rensner of Effingham. Zachery was known by young and old as having a smile that could light up a room. He was friendly, charming, and kind, always willing to listen and to give a shoulder to cry on. He loved cars and computers and dreamed of being a police officer someday, a natural desire for someone who always wanted to help people. Growing up in Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway, he was loved by the members of that congregation throughout his life. He was proud of his daughter and looked forward to a future with his fiancé, Alyssa Stalheim.

Zachery is survived by so many people who loved him. His biological family included his grandmother, Linda Richie; and siblings, Haley Rensner, Dillon Rensner, Devin Smith, Lillian Perkins, Joseph Hutton, and Mercedes Nicole Snell. His adoptive family included his grandfather, Sam Keister (Reva); and siblings, Quincy Wyatt (Thomas), Josiah Rensner, Hayden Rensner, Noah Rensner, and Nathan Rensner.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Angela Schoreck.
