JoAnn Huber, 87, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 in Shelbyville Manor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville, IL with Father Pawel Augustyniak as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

JoAnn was born on February 21, 1935 in rural Findlay, IL the daughter of John Henry and Letha Ann Walton Carroll. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville. JoAnn married Earl West in June of 1952. He died on January 10, 1986. She married Maurice Huber on February 21, 1992. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing musical instruments, attending music shows, sitting on the porch swing, going for long walks and bike rides, family “get-togethers” and feeding the birds. Her soulmate, Maurice, preceded her in death on June 14, 2022. JoAnn worked as a switchboard operator for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company and then as a nurse’s aide for Shelby Memorial Hospital both in Shelbyville. She later worked for Firestone and Caterpillar both in Decatur and then retired from Continental Bondware in Shelbyville.

She is survived by her son, Tim West of Cowden, IL; daughters, Jackie Forcum and Patty Jarnagin (Scott) all of Shelbyville, IL: step-sons, Robert Dale Huber of St. Augustine, FL and William Dwane Huber and wife Karralee of Aurora, CO; sisters, Patsy Smart and Mary Dunaway both of Shelbyville, IL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earl West; second husband, Maurice Huber; step-daughter-in-law, Pat Huber; brothers, Tom, Richard and Bill Carroll; infant sister, Cora May Carroll; and grandson, Ian West.
