Tony C. Logsdon, 65, of St. Elmo, died at 11:03 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2022, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the St. Elmo Christian Church with Jim Quick and Tim Fontaine officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the St. Elmo Christian Church or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tony Conrad Logsdon was born on Wednesday, September 12, 1956 in Vandalia, IL to Cody Conrad and Patricia (Copple) Logsdon. He married Loy Smithson on August 26, 1978. He was a member of the St. Elmo Christian Church, a member of St. Elmo Golf Club, and a member of the Hogshead Supper Club. He worked several jobs beginning when he was 14, until he retired at 62. These included oilfield work, OTR driver for Orgill, Inc. and most recently a farm employee for Roepke Farms. Tony enjoyed being outdoors, (when the weather was warm), and late model dirt racing was a sport he loved to follow. He was a wonderful carpenter and a fabulous cook. After he retired, he enjoyed playing golf every day with his friends in the “noon group”. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and going on jeep adventures with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Loy of St. Elmo; son, Skylar (Amy) Logsdon of Edgewood; daughter, Jessica (Jason) Sloan of St. Elmo; parents, Cody and Patricia Logsdon of St. Elmo; sister, Teresa (Tom) Mays of St. Elmo; 5 grandchildren, Christian and Jenna Logsdon, Ada Logsdon, Loren and Lydia Sloan, extended family, and friends he loved dearly.

Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Logsdon and grandparents.
