John Timothy "Tim" Fennessey, 88, of Effingham, went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, June 6, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham with visitation from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m including a Rotary walk-through at 5:45pm. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Springfiled, MO. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Effingham Bible Church or Stand Up For Grace (Africian Children Orphanage) Nairobi, Kenya. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.

Tim was born May 31, 1924 in Alton, IL, the son of Jack and Enid (Beastall) Fennessey. He married Kay Baker in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2000. He married Alice (Phillips) Adams on July 14, 2001 in Effingham and she survives.

Tim was a US Army Veteran serving in WW II, member of Effingham Bible Church, Effingham Noon Rotary and Illinois State Teachers Association. He was former Superintendent of Schools in Unit #40. He also was a licensed Assemblies of God minister and amateur ham radio operator.

His survivors include: wife; Alice, 2 daughters; Kimberly (Bill) Snider of Manila, Phillipines and Pixie Fennessey of Decatur, IL. 2 step - daughters; Deborah J. (Danny) Phillips of Effingham and Dianne (Dave) Smith of Champaign, IL. Grandchildren; Timothy (Jamie) Snider and Jackson, Jacob and Finn. Mark (Laura) Snider and Norah Jane, Stacy Koester, Jade and Luke. Micah (Jamie) Smith and Elijah and Joshua.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Kay, brother James and sister Pat.
