Andrew D. Spelbring, 24, of St. Elmo, died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 in St. Elmo.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Effingham County Humane Society, E.A.R.S., or the donor’s choice.

Andrew Daniel Spelbring was born on August 26, 1997 in Effingham, IL to Bradford and Danielle (Hites) Spelbring. He was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont. He was employed at Conagra, St. Elmo. He attended ALIS and Altamont Community High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, track, and cross country. In his younger years, he loved to go with his grandpa Butch to field trial with bird dogs and enjoyed going fishing with his grandpa Dan.

He is survived by: his father, Bradford Spelbring of Gastonia, NC; mother, Danielle (Randy) Arnold of St. Elmo; brother, Aidan Spelbring of Chapel Hill, NC; special friend, Kinsey Fenoglio of Mason; maternal grandparents, Dan and Myrna Hites of Edgewood; paternal grandparents, Butch and Connie Spelbring of Beecher City and Nancy Spelbring of Dieterich; great grandmother, Maxine Hites of Edgewood; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and his dog, Chubs.

Andrew was preceded in death by: his maternal great grandfather, Edwin Hites; paternal great grandparents, Andrew and Genevieve Hartke, maternal great grandparents, Harold and Cora Miller, and paternal great grandparents, Dale and Nina Spelbring; great great uncle John Allen and aunt Cleo Allen.
