Urban G. Boone, age 85, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away 10:25 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his home in Edgewood.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Mason Christian Church in Mason, Illinois. Mark White will be officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Keen’s Chapel Cemetery in Farina. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice. Urban was born on February 17, 1937 in Mason Township, Illinois, the son of Glen H. and Clementine A. (Bushue) Boone. He married Louise Baker on July 16, 1961 at Edgewood Christian Church, they would have been married for 61 years this July. He was a former Elder of Edgewood Christian Church. Urban is a current member of the Mason Christian Church where he was an Elder and on the church board. He was a member of the Pork Producer’s Club. Urban enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Boone of Edgewood; sons, Erwin Boone (wife Jill) of Edgewood and Howard Boone of Edgewood; sisters, Lucille Koester (husband Jim) of Teutopolis, Carolyn Maluchnik of Georgia, Linda Wheeler (husband Dave) of Temecula, California, Ruth Ann Lloyd (husband John) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Don Harmann Sr. of Joliet; sister-in-law, Gwen Boone of Edgewood; three grandchildren, Bradley Boone (wife Deana) of Decatur, Rebecca Wright (husband Wyatt) of St. Elmo, and Ethan Fitzwilliam (wife Kalynne) of St. Elmo; four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Micah, and Ezra Boone all of Decatur and Cole Wright of St. Elmo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Clementine Boone; daughter, Joan Fitzwilliam; son-in-law, Tom Fitzwilliam; brother, Dwayne Boone; sisters, Reta Zumbahlen and Avanell Harmaan; brother-in-law, John Maluchnik.
