Glenna M. Gordon, 73, of Beecher City, IL passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Glenna was born on November 26, 1948, in Vandalia, the daughter of Harold and Mary Lee Albright. She was a 1966 graduate of Herrick High School. Glenna and Gary Wayne Gordon were united in holy matrimony on April 11, 1971, in the Beecher City Church of Christ, and were blessed with 50 years of marriage. Glenna touched many lives in her 40 plus years working as a beautician and as the head housekeeper for the Hampton Inn in Effingham. She served her community as a volunteer for many organizations including Girl Scouts Leader, member of the Ruritan Club, Beecher City Booster Club, Church of Christ Youth Group (S.O.S.). Glenna also served on the Beecher City School Board for 12 years. She loved to dance and work in her flower gardens. She could often be found at all the local youth sporting events. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan. Glenna will always be remembered as someone who lived life to serve others.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Gordon of Beecher City; daughter, Gina James and husband Neil of O’Fallon; son, Greg Gordon and wife Tammy of Beecher City; five grandchildren: Kylie and Mackenzie James of O’Fallon, Brittany Koester (Andrew) of Beecher City, Danny Stevens (Samantha) of Beecher City and Matthew Stephens (Rebecca) of Beecher City and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terry Lynn.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Beecher City Church of Christ. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the Beecher City Church of Christ with Pastors Kevin Allen and Dennis Warner officiating. Burial will take place in Hubbartt Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Glenna’s name to the Beecher City Ruritan Club and mailed to 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.   Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
