Doris G. White, 97, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Dieterich Cemetery, Dieterich, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Doris was born on August 27, 1924, in Jasper County, IL, the daughter of Charles A. and E. Gertrude (Welker) Leturno. She married Harold E. White on May 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2014.
Doris was a bookkeeper for Effingham Builders Supply for over twenty years. She volunteered at The Cross at the Crossroads and the Red Cross blood drives. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was active in the Home and Community Education Association.
Doris is survived by her son, Rex D. White of Morganfield, KY; daughters, Connie (Wm. “Butch”) Guennewig of Arcola and Linda White (Michael Strange) of Effingham; granddaughter, Cathy (Dan) Heimos of Edwardsville; and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Nathan Heimos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; and siblings, Irvin Leturno, Carl Leturno, Nellie Stevenson, Lucille Leturno, and a sibling in infancy.
